Heart of PAI

For Heart Health Month, we want to share our heart with you – the PAI Account Executives! These women spend their days assisting clients — like you — with their group health plans. Whether it’s plan building, health fairs, assisting members, or anything else, they’re at the heart of it.

Elizabeth EdgeElizabeth Edge, Senior Account Executive

Elizabeth brings over 35 years of industry experience to her accounts. Over the years she’s worked for both BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina and PAI, and has a broad range of experience that includes account management, provider services, marketing, and claims supervision. Elizabeth helps groups “navigate” and get the information they need to make decisions about benefit changes, reinsurance, products, and programs that add value to their benefit offering. She previously served on the Board for Piedmont Health Underwriters (PAHU) and received a Service Award. Her achievements have also included numerous Account Executive and Service Representative awards from both BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina and PAI over the years. Elizabeth received her BA Degree from Mars Hill University..

When not working Elizabeth enjoys tennis, travel, international and local mission work, and spending time with her family and friends.

Claire Weston, Account Executive Claire Weston

A more-than-twenty-year veteran of PAI, Claire is committed to the day-to-day service of her accounts, their agents and staff.  Whether it’s resolving a claim payment issue, leading a meeting to help a group’s employees better understand their benefit plan, analyzing reports, or presenting renewals, Claire is known for being thorough and dedicated.  Her tenacity has led to her being a multiple winner of PAI’s Account Executive and Marketing Representative of the Year awards, while her people-skills have created the kind of customer relationships that contribute to PAI’s superior client retention rates. Claire provides employer groups with the communications and information they need to support their self-funded plan on a daily basis.  Claire takes pride in the strong relationships she consistently continues to build with her clients, their employees and agents. Claire is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and resides in Columbia.

Jennifer McDonaldJennifer McDonald, Senior Account Executive

Jennifer’s career in health insurance began in 1996. During her 26 years with PAI, she has racked up numerous awards from BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina and PAI for her performance. Her skills at helping new accounts understand and get the most benefit through self-funding with PAI have led to a large base of satisfied groups and agents.  Jennifer helps her groups keep their plans on track with claims and financial analysis, forecast reporting, and evaluation of benefit designs. Whether it’s assisting them with understanding the impact of health care reform or implementing plan changes, she takes a hands-on approach to service with a constant eye on bottom-line results. She has served as membership chairperson for CAHU (Columbia Association of Health Underwriters) and is a graduate of College of Charleston.

In her spare time she loves birdwatching, reading and traveling.

Mary Bothwell, Account Executive Mary Bothwell

Mary brings 30 years customer service experience to her role of Account Executive for PAI.  She’s been in the health care industry since 2007, joining PAI in 2008.  Mary is known not only for exceeding customer expectations, but also for providing leadership for implementing key new PAI solutions.  For example, her knowledge of customers’ needs contributed to PAI’s ID card tracking and fulfillment solution.  She also worked relentlessly in the trenches to help PAI’s customers with the ACA required Summary of Benefits and Coverage documents (SBCs). More recently, she assisted with the implementation of our new benefit portal and continues to assist with our upcoming benefit integration system.  Mary has received PAI’s Super Achiever Award several times and the Account Executive of the Year Award twice. She is also a member of SCAHU and has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of South Carolina, graduating cum laude.

Both of us have the pleasure of working with Mary Bothwell. She has given superior service to Oconee County through the years. I am sending this email to give her recognition and praise for helping us with day-to-day operations and special projects.

Dawn TempletonDawn Templeton, Account Executive

Dawn has been in the insurance industry her entire career, starting as a customer service representative.  She held positions as a provider recruiter, marketing service representative and joined PAI in 2007 as an Account Executive.  Dawn worked on numerous projects and process improvement initiatives throughout the years.  Her favorite part of her job is meeting with employees at groups to help broaden their understanding of their benefits, in order to improve their health and well-being.  She has earned several awards during her time at PAI include Super Achiever and Account Executive of the Year.  Dawn holds the Health Insurance Associate designation and is also a member of SCAHU.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Insurance from Appalachian State University.

 

 

Jenna Davis, Marketing Service Representative Jenna Davis

Jenna is a 2021 graduate from the University of South Carolina where she studied Public Health at the Arnold School of Public Health, graduating Magna Cum Laude. During her time at USC she served as the Vice President of the Public Health Society and the Communications Chair for GlobeMed. Prior to joining PAI she worked in the pharmaceutical industry .She joined PAI in 2022 manages and provides day-to-day support for my groups, as well as assists Account Executives with their groups. She composes and reviews weekly, monthly and annual reporting for groups and upper management. She assists management with special projects that pertain to the growth and retention of PAI. She enjoys using data analytics to provide insight on the health of groups and what programs and initiatives would be beneficial to implement. She is on the Self-Insurance Institute of America, Inc. (SIIA) Future Leaders Committee. In her free time she enjoy working out, boating and traveling.
