Emergency Procedures for Prescription Refills

With the recent hurricanes affecting the Southeastern United States, we wish to update you on actions taken to aid our members in filling their prescriptions.
The following emergency procedures were already in place due to the COVID-19 situation and will continue to be in effect through Sept. 30, 2020:
- Specialty Infusion Services is identifying patients in impacted ZIP Codes and will initiate any necessary manual outreach.
- Customer service representatives are empowered to process overrides for members in impacted areas to obtain refills before the refill eligible date.
- The Refill Too Soon edit has been proactively lifted.
OptumRx is continuing to process home delivery orders for distribution, although the carrier may hold the order until the impacted ZIP Codes clear. They will continue to monitor the situation. OptumRx is an independent company that provides pharmacy services on behalf of your health plan.
