Only impacts groups with CVS/Caremark through PAI.
For those groups that have CVS/Caremark through PAI, effective January 1, 2020, administration of PAI's pharmacy benefits will transition from CVS/Caremark to OptumRx. OptumRx, is an independent pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) contracted by PAI to provide your health plan’s prescription drug coverage.
This change is not a change in benefits and will have little or no effect on most members. What transitioning members can expect:
- ID Cards - Transitioning members will receive a new ID card in December to replace their current one. As before, your new ID card is for both your medical and pharmacy benefits.
- Mail Service - OptumRx Home Delivery will be your new mail order home delivery service.
- Specialty Pharmacy - BriovaRx will be your new preferred specialty pharmacy.

All other PAI member pharmacy administration remains unchanged.
All PAI members are encouraged to go to your group member page for the most up-to-date information regarding your plan benefit administration.
If you have additional questions, your PAI customer service team can help. Just call the number on your member ID card.
